A TIME TO REFLECT
As the year draws to an end, it is a good time to reflect on what we have experienced over the past twelve months and think about what the next year is likely to bring.
In some countries, a day is set aside each November for families to remember all those members who are no longer with them. We at Woodside Bereavement Service also hold an annual Celebration of Life Service in December for anyone who wishes to have some time to remember loved ones who are no longer with us.
For people who have suffered a bereavement or loss during the year, Christmas and New Year can bring heightened feelings of grief and isolation. As Christians and members of the community we need to be aware of our neighbours and reach out to those who may not feel able to share in the celebrations taking place all around them at this time. A little word or gesture does not take a lot of effort but may make all the difference to someone who feels bereft, and may make it easier for them to get through this difficult time.
Let us all make time to reflect on what we as a service have achieved during the year and look to 2012 with renewed energy, hope and commitment to our community here in Croydon.
BEST WISHES TO YOU ALL FOR A BLESSED CHRISTMAS AND A PEACEFUL AND FRUITFUL 2012!
